Rainbow Yoga with Room 25

On Friday afternoon we met our buddy class - Room 25.  After sport they were doing Rainbow Yoga to stretch and relax.  They shared some of their learning with us.  We tested how relaxed they were by picking up their arms and dropping them and we also had a go at some of the positions they have learnt.  It was great to meet our buddies.

M & M Maths

On Friday for statistics we wanted to find out which coloured M & M there was more of in each packet.  We compared 2 packets of M & M's - peanut and chocolate.  We found out a lot of things.

Soccer with Steven

On Friday,  Coll's Dad Steven came to teach room 5 some soccer skills.  We learnt about kicking and trying to score goals and remembering to spread out.  It was lots of fun and we all participated.  Thanks Steven.

Our community Cloth

Look what we have made!  Thank you to all the parents that came and helped with our cloth.  We drew designs and made a plan of what fabric and buttons, sequins, ribbons we wanted.  Each circle represents a family member.  We have written stories about our cloth which will be published in class soon.  I think these look fabulous and will stand out on the hall wall.  Well done Room 5 (and I think we are the first class finished!).

Numeracy

We have been learning about making numbers and matching them to objects.  We have been making sets up to 5, up to 10 and up to 20.  Here is some of our work.

Heart of Achievement

Wow Sam!  Well done for receiving our first Heart of Achievement Award for showing the school values in EVERYTHING you do.  You are a wonderful, kind, helpful and happy member of Room 5 and we love having you in our class.  Tino Pai!

Some more super readers!

Well done to Frances, Sam and Levi for reaching 25 nights of reading.  Keep up the great work.  You are amazing!

Mila's Monkey

Yesterday Mila let us borrow her special monkey for the letter 'Mm'.  It laughs and blows kisses and drinks and even gets the hiccups.  We all loved playing with it.  She got the hiccups and Nicholas patted her back to make her burp.  Frances also brought in some Marmite and Alex brought some Monsters! Great work.  Today we started making monkey masks.  You are doing a great job of finding things that begin with our letter of the day.

H is for Hat!

Today we made hilarious hats for the letter H.  We cut pictures out of magazines that started with h and drew things that started with H.  We then decorated them with sparkles and ribbons and flowers.  We looked like a little class of Gnomes with our hats on!

Roaring Readers

Well done to Joe, Georgia, Coll and Emily for reaching 25 nights of reading!  Keep up the great work.

Aquagym Swimming

It was fantastic to see all of Room 5 children swimming today.  You all showed courage by giving it your best go and are learning to manage yourselves by getting dressed and taking responsibility for your things.  It was tricky to get a photo of any of you as you were all moving so fast.  Keep up the great attitude!
