Drip Drip Drip

Wow! What a fun day we had!  There were so many exciting activities using water or learning about water set out all over the school today.  I was stationed on the water pistols and targets so I didn't get to see all the other activities but we did a short reflection and some highlights were;

  • learning what things float and what things sink
  • Building sand walls and rivers which don't erode with water
  • Folding paper boats
  • Transferring water in a sponge to a bucket over an obstacle course
  • passing a full cup over and under a line of kids in a race
Most children managed to get as wet as they could.  If your child came home dry - you were lucky!  I tried my hardest to wet as many as I could!  I loved the way the big buddies helped the younger children with the activities.
This ignition kicks off our Drip Drip Drip unit - learning all about the Water Cycle and how important water is to us.
